Pakistani YouTube channels quietly restored in India

India has quietly removed the ban on Pakistani entertainment YouTube channels, allowing their content to be accessible in the country once again.

Earlier this year, after the Pahalgam attack and the rising tensions in May, the Indian government had placed restrictions that affected not only Pakistani celebrities but also Pakistani content. As a result, Pakistani entertainment YouTube channels were banned first, and Indian viewers who enjoyed watching Pakistani dramas could no longer access them.

After that, the Instagram accounts of Pakistani stars were also blocked in India. Because of this, fans in India could not view their favorite Pakistani celebrities’ profiles without using a VPN.

Following these two steps, the release of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s Bollywood film Abeer Gulal was stopped, and serious efforts were made to block the release of the film Sardar Ji 3 featuring Hania Aamir. However, the makers chose to release both films only in Pakistan and overseas to avoid losses.

Although people in both countries thought that these bans in India would stay for a long time, that assumption turned out to be wrong. One by one, the blocked accounts of Pakistani stars are being restored in India.

Some of the Pakistani celebrities whose Instagram accounts have become accessible again include Danish Taimoor, Ahad Raza Mir, Mawra Hocane, and Yumna Zaidi. India has taken this step silently, without any official announcement. The news came to light when Indian fans of Pakistani dramas shared it on social media.

The ban on Pakistani drama YouTube channels had affected the number of views on these shows, but now, with the ban lifted, dramas like Parwaresh, Mann Mast Malang, and Dayan are expected to get more views again.

Even though the Indian government made this move quietly, fans of Pakistani dramas in India are expressing their happiness openly.
