Saima Noor came and stole the show. This is what most viewers are saying after watching the first episode of the drama Main Manto Nahi Hoon, aired on 19th July.
The drama, produced by Six Sigma Plus, had already created a lot of hype for months. When behind-the-scenes videos started going viral, fans became even more excited.
The name of the famous director Nadeem Baig and writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was enough to catch everyone’s attention. The title of the drama reminded people of the bold Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto. So naturally, viewers were expecting some strong and bold storytelling.
In the very first episode, it is revealed that Humayun Saeed’s character is named Manto, which hints at a deeper connection with the title.
The cast of the drama was already in the spotlight with big names like Sajal Aly, Humayun Saeed, Ahsan Raza Mir, and Azaan Sami. But what really surprised everyone was the powerful performance by film star Saima Noor.
The drama is created by the same dream team who made the blockbuster Meray Paas Tum Ho – Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, Nadeem Baig, and Humayun Saeed. So expectations were already high.
The story revolves around two rival families. One side is led by Asif Raza Mir, and the other by film star Babar Ali.
Saima Noor plays Suraiya, the sister of Asif Raza Mir’s character. She wants revenge for the murder of her husband and son.
The first episode revealed just enough of the plot to make viewers eager to watch more. Everyone loves a good revenge drama, especially when it’s well written. And here, the story includes a 70-year-old family feud where 218 people have already been killed. Asif Raza Mir reveals this to Saima Noor’s character, who is burning with revenge in her eyes.
Although all characters acted well in the episode, Saima Noor clearly stole the spotlight. Viewers loved her intense expressions and powerful dialogue delivery. Many felt the camera should just stay on her.
Sajal Aly plays Saima’s niece in the drama. The bond between aunt and niece is beautifully shown, not as enemies but as strong allies. Saima’s character even fights with her brother to make sure her niece continues her education in a top Lahore university.
Social media is full of praise for this drama, especially for Saima Noor’s magical acting.
One user said they didn’t know Saima was such a good actress and admitted they couldn’t take their eyes off her in the episode.
Another said Saima Noor owned the first episode with her excellent expressions and dialogue delivery.
