Rajab Butt’s mother’s controversial statement to her daughter-in-law angers social media users

The recent comments of the mother of controversial Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt have sparked a new debate on social media. In a podcast, she said something about her daughter-in-law Iman Rajab that deeply offended social media users.

Rajab Butt and Iman Rajab have become parents to a son despite the ups and downs of their marriage. Tensions between the two increased after news of Rajab Butt’s old relationship surfaced last month, but Iman has returned to her in-laws from Mecca while Rajab Butt is in the UK due to legal matters.

Rajab’s mother is known for her outspoken style in videos and that is why her statements often spark debate.

In the latest podcast, she compared Iman to her daughter Ghazal. According to her, Iman is “very sensitive” and the doctor had forbidden her from traveling during her pregnancy, which is why she could not go on Umrah immediately after her marriage. On the contrary, she said that her daughter Ghazal traveled to Umrah, pilgrimages and even the northern regions despite being pregnant.

The comparison quickly became controversial and went viral on social media, with social media users calling it insulting to Iman.

Rajab Butt’s mother also said that Iman cannot explain herself on any rumour or controversy and she prays that one day Iman will clarify everything herself, but she cannot be forced to do anything.

However, social media users strongly criticized these statements. One user wrote, “She is the strongest because she is enduring your son’s behavior, Ghazal did not have to endure all this.”

Another wrote, “Iman is surviving despite your family’s behavior, this is her greatest strength.”

While one user expressed his deep anger and wrote, “My blood is boiling after hearing what this woman says.”

The debate on social media is still ongoing and so far neither Rajab Butt nor Iman Rajab has responded to the matter.
