Ranveer Singh had just come to terms with the severe criticism over his imitation of Rishabh Shetty when a new controversy erupted.
Local lawyer Prashant Mittal has filed a complaint against Ranveer Singh at the High Grounds Police Station in Bangalore, alleging that the actor has hurt religious sentiments by insulting the sacred Hindu tradition of ‘Bhuta Kola’ and ‘Deva’.
Police said that an FIR has not been registered yet, but the pressure from Hindu extremists is increasing.
The angry mob also tried to surround the police station. In which the police had to control with great difficulty, but the Hindutva goons are still waiting for an opportunity.
Ranveer Singh has so far remained silent on this serious issue. And his lawyers were also still consulting on legal action.
It may be recalled that at the closing ceremony of the Film Award Show held in the entertainment and tourist city of Goa, India, Ranveer Singh had imitated the character of filmmaker Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara.
A new uproar arose and actor Ranveer Singh also had to face severe criticism. This matter had escalated so much that Ranveer had to give an explanation on social media.
The actor had said in an Instagram post that brothers and sisters! My only intention was to appreciate Rishabh Shetty’s performance. There was no question of insulting any tradition, culture or faith.
But the wave of anger could not cool down. Hindu Jana Jagrati Samiti filed a complaint with the police that Ranveer had insulted Goddess Chaminda during the performance.
Thus, Ranveer Singh has been named in separate cases in two states since his performance at an event.
It should be remembered that while cases are being filed against Ranveer Singh one after the other, the actor is busy with the promotions of his new film ‘Dhurandhar’ which was released today.
