Sana Yousuf murder case – shocking revelations by the IG

After the murder of Pakistani TikToker Sana Yousuf, the IG of Islamabad held a press conference and shared some important and shocking details, promising justice.

On the night of June 2, Sana Yousuf’s name started trending on Pakistani social media. She was killed in her home by a man who broke in during the night.

Sana Yousuf was 17 years old and belonged to the village of Chuinj in Upper Chitral. She was the daughter of a well-known and active social worker.

As soon as the news of her murder spread, many people on social media, including her fans, influencers, and celebrities, raised their voices to demand justice for Sana.

Her case caused worry all over the country, especially in Islamabad. Police later claimed to have arrested the killer, and everyone was waiting for confirmation.

In a detailed press conference, the IG of Islamabad explained the case and how the suspect was caught.

He said that Sana Yousuf, at just 17, had a strong presence on social media. She was killed at 5 PM in her home. She was shot twice and could not survive.

The IG revealed the suspect’s real name is Umar Hayat. He was arrested from Faisalabad. He said this case was a big challenge. To catch the suspect, police checked footage from 113 cameras. Identifying him was very difficult. Teams used cell phone and other technologies. They analyzed 300 phone calls and formed 7 special teams to arrest the killer.

The IG added that people from across the country were asking questions about the murder. There was a national demand to bring the killer to justice.

While talking about the arrest, the IG said that one raid was done in Faisalabad and two in Jaranwala. As a result of these raids, the suspect Umar was arrested. His father is a government employee in grade 16.

Ali Nasir Rizvi shared that the suspect is 22 years old and failed in matric (10th grade). He had been trying to contact Sana Yousuf again and again, but she kept rejecting him. On her birthday too, he made many attempts to talk to her. After being ignored many times both through calls and in person, the suspect planned to kill her. On the night of June 2, he carried out his plan and killed her. After the murder, he took her mobile phone with him to destroy all the evidence. After his arrest, both the phone and the murder weapon were recovered from him.

Ali Nasir Rizvi also revealed during the press conference that the blind murder case was solved by Islamabad Police in just 20 hours. He said that people using social media in a helpful way should be appreciated. He added that the suspect will be punished with strong and undeniable evidence.
