Pakistani folk singer Sanam Marvi has revealed that she often faces criticism for performing Hajj and Umrah. She recently appeared on a private TV program where she spoke openly about the criticism she receives for being part of the showbiz industry and shared some personal experiences.
Sanam Marvi said that whenever she goes for religious pilgrimages like Hajj or Umrah, people strongly criticize her and post negative comments on social media.
According to her, some people say she sings all year and now she is going for Hajj or Umrah, while others say she will perform Umrah and then return to singing. She explained that critics fail to understand that this is her profession and source of livelihood.
She added that she prefers to stay silent on such trolling because people do not realize how much dedication she puts into her work.
