Senior actor Tauqeer Nasir spoke critically about today’s showbiz trends in a recent interview. He said that acting in the old days was more powerful, meaningful, and sincere.
Speaking in a show on Suno TV, he said that actors in the past were deeply connected to their work with honesty and dedication. But now, only outer beauty is being focused on.
According to him, in old dramas, the emotions of a character were clearly shown through expressions and body language. But now, instead of real emotions, makeup and showing off are given more importance.
He was especially concerned about how many actresses today are getting facial surgeries to enhance their looks, which makes their appearance look fake.
He called it a rubber-like effect and said that in the past, actresses used to stay simple. At most, they would get facials, and their natural beauty was their real charm.
Tauqeer Nasir also questioned the working style of today’s directors. He said that earlier, directors used to be present with the actors on set and guided them properly in building their characters. But now, most directors just sit behind the monitor and complete the scenes, which is affecting the quality of acting.
