Bollywood’s talented actress Shefali Shah has opened up about a very sensitive chapter in her personal life. She revealed that she decided to get out of her first marriage when she felt that the relationship could prove to be destructive for her mental and emotional health.
Shefali Shah was recently seen in the Netflix series Delhi Crime Season 3. Shefali was first married to actor Harsh Chhaya, but despite social pressure and traditional expectations, she took the difficult decision to end the relationship, prioritizing happiness and self.
Later, in the year 2000, she married producer Vipul Shah in a simple way, with whom she has two sons.
Speaking on the Spotlight Sessions broadcast on Zoom’s YouTube channel, Shefali Shah said that she realized her true worth when life reached a critical juncture. According to her, no one had ever told her that a woman could be complete in herself and that she did not need a relationship for her identity or value.
Shefali said that if there are good relationships in life, it is a beautiful thing, but if not, it does not diminish the value of a person. Recalling those days, she said that there was a moment when she strongly realized that she could not stay in this situation anymore because it was breaking her from within.
Referring to her first marriage, the actress said that a close friend had asked her if she would risk being alone or stay in the same relationship if she never found love again. To this, Shefali replied that she would still prefer to be alone, because she could not live a life where there was neither happiness, nor confidence, nor value.
She said that this thought gave her the courage to leave her parents’ house for the first time and live alone. With age, a person gets tired of the race to please others and there comes a time when he realizes that it is not possible to please everyone. Describing this feeling, Shefali Shah said, “I am not a pizza to please everyone.”
Shefali Shah is considered one of the strongest actresses of the present era, who has also made a new generation of fans through her brilliant acting on OTT platforms. This bold confession of hers is being highly appreciated on social media and is becoming a source of encouragement for many women.
