Tauseeq Haider says not getting married was a wise decision – he reveals the reason behind staying single
Senior Pakistani drama actor Tauseeq Haider has called his decision of not getting married a wise one. He is currently playing the role of Murtaza, the father of Sharjeena (played by Hania Aamir), in the drama serial Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. Tauseeq Haider is considered one of the respected actors of the industry and has been appreciated for many of his past projects.
But one truth about his life is that he is still unmarried and has spent most of his life alone.
So the question is, why did he choose to stay single despite being successful, and why does he still stand by that decision?
Recently, Tauseeq Haider appeared on a private podcast where he talked about many important topics, including his personal life.
During the conversation, he said that people often ask him about his plans for old age. In response, he tells them that having children just to have support in old age is a selfish mindset. Children are a blessing from God, but it is not right to treat them like an insurance plan.
He added that he believes there are some people in his life who will support him and take care of him during difficult times.
Tauseeq Haider said that he knows many people who either stayed single or did not have children but still lived a good life in old age. He explained that it is your own personality that decides whether you end up lonely or surrounded by people who care about you, even if you don’t have children.
Continuing his talk, he called his decision of not getting married a wise one. He shared that there was a time when he used to think he should follow the usual path and get married, but with time he realized that it would have been a mistake. Now when he looks back, he feels glad that he made the smart decision of staying unmarried.
Speaking seriously, he also mentioned that in his youth, he had a close relationship with someone special, but things didn’t work out. By the time he reached his mid-thirties, he had come to the conclusion that marriage should not be done just because society expects it. It should happen only when you truly feel complete with your partner.
He added that he is still happy and satisfied with his single life. Interestingly, he still receives marriage proposals and has not completely closed the door to future possibilities.
It is worth noting that Tauseeq Haider began his career in 1987 as an English newsreader on Radio Pakistan. Later, he started reading news on television as well. When Radio Pakistan launched its FM channel, his voice was the first to go on air.
He has hosted countless programs on Radio and Pakistan Television and was also the longtime anchor of PTV Home’s morning show Rising Pakistan.
Besides the drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, Tauseeq has also shown his acting skills in serials like Jafaa and Meem Se Mohabbat. He even worked in a Turkish drama alongside actress Atiqa Odho.
