Famous Pakistani makeup artist and stylist Umair Waqar has taken a clear and bold stand by announcing that he will not do makeup for brides who wear outfits made by Indian designers.
He stressed that people should stop promoting Indian designers and instead support the local fashion industry.
Umair Waqar, who has worked with almost all top Pakistani actresses and models, shared on his Instagram post that he is ready to lose a few clients if it means keeping his self-respect and values.
In his post, Umair Waqar also responded to people who were calling it wrong that he does not return advance payments.
He made it clear that he never returns the advance, and now all new clients are informed about his updated rules in advance.
A few days earlier, Umair Waqar had also shared a video message where he officially announced that he will not do makeup for brides who wear outfits made by Indian designers.
According to him, this is his personal rule, and if anyone has a problem with it, they are free to choose another makeup artist who is okay with doing makeup for brides in Indian dresses.
In his post, Umair Waqar also requested Pakistanis to stop supporting the Indian economy and to choose Pakistani designers when it comes to traditional outfits.
He also questioned why people are so obsessed with Indian celebrities and models when Pakistan already has so many beautiful models and actresses.
Umair Waqar praised Pakistani bridal dresses, saying that most of them are handmade with great effort, while Indian dresses are mostly made by machines.
His bold and patriotic stand has been appreciated by many fans and people from the local fashion industry on social media.
