Why did my brother post about leaving showbiz? Ghana Ali reveals
Famous Pakistani actress Ghana Ali has revealed the surprising reason why her brother posted on social media that she is leaving showbiz.
On March 28, a story was shared on Ghana Ali’s Instagram account saying she is leaving the showbiz industry for the sake of Allah and asked people to remember her in their prayers.
However, the next day, Ghana clarified that she is not leaving the industry yet, but she does plan to leave in the future to focus on her family and children.
In a recent interview, Ghana talked about her career, her role as Zara in the drama Naqab, and also explained why her brother made that post from her account.
She said Zara’s character is very difficult because it is neither fully negative nor fully positive. She explained that Zara lost her parents early and her brother does not care much for her, so her husband Taimoor becomes her whole world. Because she did not grow up with parents, Zara has some personality issues. Ghana said that Zara is not shown as a complete victim because no one is totally good or totally bad.
Ghana also mentioned that she is 31 years old and thinks she can work for 5 more years. But now writers mostly create stories for girls aged 20 to 25. They believe that after 30, women are only fit to play roles like sister or sister-in-law.
About her height, she said that short-height girls are now more common in showbiz. Even if they are 35 years old, they still look young. But tall girls do not have that advantage. She added that in international showbiz, short height is not considered ideal, but in our drama industry, it is seen as a good thing.
When asked about acting after marriage, Ghana said she loves acting a lot and always chooses roles with depth. She never chased the typical heroine roles.
About the showbiz quitting post, Ghana revealed that she was in Itikaf (spiritual retreat) during Ramadan, and her brother posted that story thinking she might actually leave acting.
She honestly shared that both her family and husband do not want her to act, but they let her do it because they love her and understand her passion.
When asked about films, Ghana said she is married and has certain limits. If she gets a good role within those boundaries, she will consider doing it.
