Vaani Kapoor who is working in a film with Fawad Khan speaks in support of Hania and Diljit

Indian actress Vaani Kapoor has spoken in support of the film featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir. After recent tensions between Pakistan and India, Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh faced criticism for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film Sardaar Ji 3. Due to this controversy, the film has been banned from release in India.

On social media, a strong boycott campaign against Diljit Dosanjh was launched and is still ongoing. While many criticized him, some fans and fellow artists came forward to support him, with Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor being one of the most prominent voices.

In a recent interview, Vaani Kapoor defended Diljit, saying he had broken no law. While talking to NDTV, she explained that the film was likely completed before the current incident and involved over 100 technical crew members who worked hard on it.

Vaani further said that Diljit never intended any disrespect towards the country. He is a globally recognized artist and has invested in the film, which might now result in financial loss for him.

It’s important to note that the ban on Sardaar Ji 3 in India came after the Pahalgam incident and India’s failed military action “Operation Sindoor”, which led to a stricter stance on cultural exchanges with Pakistan.

While many Indian celebrities opposed Diljit and boycotted his film, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah also stood up for him and called for a more sensible resolution to the situation.
