The Miss Universe contest happening in Thailand has become controversial after contestants protested strongly.
According to international media, the situation got heated during one event when the Executive Director, Nawatt Itsaragrisil, called Miss Mexico Fatima Bush a dummy in front of everyone.
When Fatima tried to explain herself, the director called security and tried to silence her forcefully.
Fatima responded firmly, saying that he should know how to respect a woman, especially one representing her country.
Hearing this, other contestants, including the current Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig, stood up in support of Fatima.
Contestants from around the world walked out together in protest against the director’s rude behavior.
After the videos went viral on social media, people criticized the event’s management heavily. The President of Miss Universe, Raul Rocha Canto, took notice of the situation.
He called the director’s behavior insulting and intimidating, removed him from his position, and sent the new CEO, Mario Bucaro, to Thailand to handle the event.
The Miss Universe 2025 final will take place on November 20, and the world is waiting to see who wins the crown.
