A new statement from the police has come after the death of senior TV actress Ayesha Khan. She passed away at the age of 77, and her body was found in her apartment in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 7, Karachi. The body was around one week old.
Police confirmed that Ayesha Khan had been living alone. When a bad smell came from her home, neighbors informed her relatives.
Her friend Tehmina Khalid also confirmed the news of her death. While talking to private TV channel Geo News, Tehmina said that Ayesha Khan had passed away in Karachi about five days ago.
Ayesha Khan’s body was moved from Jinnah Hospital to the Edhi morgue at Sohrab Goth. Police said that a post-mortem will be done if the family asks for it.
Was her death natural?
Police said that at this point, the death seems to be natural, but the exact cause will be confirmed after the medical report.
They also said Ayesha Khan was found dead late at night in her flat. Evidence has been collected from the apartment, and statements from her cousins and neighbors have also been recorded.
Police added that her son is coming to Karachi from abroad, and further steps will be taken after his arrival.

Ayesha Khan was born on 22 August 1948 in Karachi. She appeared in many popular dramas on PTV.
Some of her famous dramas include Mubarak Ho Beti Hui Hai, Teri Raza, Meri Gudiya, Afshan, Uroosa, Family 93, Naqaab Zan, Mehndi, and many other hit PTV dramas.
She had been away from the drama industry for the past few years. She was the elder sister of actress Khalida Riyasat.
