Was Tara Mahmood forced to play Salman Saeed’s mother?
Actress and singer Tara Mahmood has revealed that she was unexpectedly cast in a drama role.
She shared that during the shoot, she found out she was not just playing Saboor Aly’s mother but also Salman Saeed’s mother, which left her surprised.
Tara recently appeared as a guest on Samaa TV’s morning show where she talked about her acting journey, personal experiences, and thoughts.
She said that acting started by chance for her, as she was never interested in joining showbiz. However, senior actress Samina Ahmed encouraged her, and that’s how she entered the industry.
Tara also shared a funny story from the drama Shaadi Card, where she used a mix of Urdu and English in a unique accent. It became so natural for her that she started using it in her daily life too.
She also talked about being very open and honest. If she doesn’t like someone’s outfit or color choice, she says it directly. Sometimes, people get offended by her blunt comments.
While talking about a common issue on drama sets, she said that often actors find out during the shoot how many children their character has or what their character’s background is.
She recalled a moment when she was told she would play Saboor Aly’s mother in a drama. But when she reached the set, she found out that Salman Saeed was also her son in the story. She was shocked because Salman is close to her age and does not look like her son. Laughing, she said she kept asking Salman, Are you really going to be my son?
Tara added that such unexpected changes are very common on drama sets, and actors often have to quickly adjust to them.
