Pakistani cricket legend Wasim Akram, former captain Misbah-ul-Haq, host and actor Fakhr Alam, former cricketer Saeed Anwar and other well-known personalities jointly performed Hajj this year. However, during Hajj, he faced criticism after some of his videos and photos went viral on social media.

A video shared by Wasim Akram during Rummy Al Jamarat, in which he adopted the style of hitting the devil with stones in his unique swing style, went viral. Later, in another video, he was seen carrying a banana for Misbah-ul-Haq, on which users gave different comments.

On the other hand, Fakhr Alam shared many highlights of his Hajj journey on social media, in which actor Bilal Abbas Khan and comedian Tabish Hashmi were also seen. Due to these activities, some social media users called this trip “picnic instead of Hajj”.

In a recent conversation, Waseem Akram, Fakhri Alam and Misbah-ul-Haq responded to these critical comments and said that many people questioned why they only cut their hair after Hajj instead of shaving their heads. According to him, before leaving for Hajj, he had received guidance from the scholars who told him two Sharia options, either to shave his head completely or to have his hair shortened, in which a part of his hair is cut. They adopted the second method which is legally permissible.

He also responded to the criticism about “Hajj or picnic” and said that Hajj is a great worship, but during this time, a person is not busy with only one action for 24 hours. Along with worship, meeting friends, conversation, prayers, smiles and happy moments are also part of this journey. He said that people should get complete information on these matters before criticizing them.

Wasim Akram and his colleagues said that they have made various videos for the young generation to provide guidance on performing Hajj and to develop interest in this holy journey among young people. According to him, the purpose of these videos was only to give information and prepare people for Hajj.

Talking to Madinah Munawarah, Fakhr Alam said that after completing the Hajj, the most asked question is how did he finally get the motivation to go on the Hajj. In response to this question, Wasim Akram said that he had not made any special plans in advance, rather he always thought that he would perform Hajj when he felt ready from his heart. According to him, when he found out that Fakhr Alam and Misbah-ul-Haq were also going on Hajj, they also decided to join this caravan.

Wasim Akram added that he is about to turn 60 years old and he felt that now is the best time to fulfill this sacred duty. He described Hajj journey as physically difficult but memorable and bearable.

Misbah-ul-Haq also expressed his feelings and said that this pilgrimage is one of the most special experiences of his life. According to him, embarking on this spiritual journey with his friends enhanced his beauty and memories, and this experience will always remain in his heart.
