Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan has opened up about his difficult times, including his drinking habits, after his divorce from his first wife Reena Dutta.
A difficult period in Indian actor Aamir Khan’s personal life came to light when he spoke about his habits after his separation from Reena Dutta.
The actor of the film 3 Idiots said that that time was very challenging emotionally, he never drank alcohol before, but things changed when his wife left home with the children and he was left alone.
He said that at that time there was alcohol in the house for guests and he decided to try it that night and then it gradually became a habit, for the next year and a half I used to drink a bottle almost every night and for a person who did not drink alcohol at all before, it was too much.
Aamir Khan said that the end of the marriage was difficult for both families, but they tried to handle it wisely while moving forward in their personal and professional lives over time.
Aamir Khan also admitted that this period was associated with a difficult emotional phase after the end of his marriage, which he described as a vulnerable time in his life.
It should be noted that Aamir Khan married Reena Dutta in 1986, at the age of 21, while their separation took place 16 years later in 2002, they have two children, Ira and Junaid.
After divorcing Reena, Aamir Khan married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005, however, in 2021, the two announced their separation while they continue to raise their son Azad together.
Later, before his 60th birthday in March 2025, Aamir Khan publicly introduced his partner Gauri Spot, after which he appeared with her at various events.
