In an interview on Madiha Naqvi’s show, actress Afshan Qureshi talked about her marriage. She said her marriage was a love marriage and only her husband’s brother attended the wedding.

She revealed that her mother-in-law did not attend the wedding because she was ill. Because of this, her husband Abid Qureshi did not inform his mother about the wedding, so the marriage stayed secret for many months.

Afshan said that even after being married for several months, her husband did not take her to meet his mother. But after she kept asking, one day her husband took her to his home.

Talking about her first meeting with her mother-in-law, Afshan said that her mother-in-law looked a little upset at first, but Afshan went ahead and hugged her.

She laughed and said that in the beginning, her mother-in-law seemed angry and often scolded her. But actually, she loved her very much.

Afshan explained that because she is from the Memon community, her Urdu was not perfect. Her mother-in-law was from Lucknow and often scolded her for speaking wrong Urdu.

Afshan added that her mother-in-law showed love in her own way. Although it seemed like she was scolding, she was actually showing care and love. Afshan stayed with her mother-in-law for only 15 days, but during this time, her mother-in-law taught her a lot.

She shared a story that her mother-in-law often cooked for her. When Afshan asked her not to cook, her mother-in-law would scold her and say, “You go away from here.” Her husband Abid Qureshi would say that even though she scolds her, she also loves and cares for her.
