Mirza Abbas Ali, known as Abbas, was once a popular hero of Tamil films and was loved by many young fans. He also worked with famous actress Aishwarya Rai in the movie Kandukondain Kandukondain as the lead actor.

However, life changed over time. After facing failure in films, Abbas moved to New Zealand where he started doing small jobs to earn a living.

Abbas began his career with the film Kadhal Desam, and later appeared in successful movies like VIP (1997), Pooveli, Jeans (1998), Suyamvaram and Malabar Police (1999).

But after the year 2000, his film career started to go down. Many of his films failed, and he was only seen in small roles or guest appearances.

A few years later, Abbas became disappointed with the film industry and decided to quit. He moved to New Zealand and took up regular jobs just to make ends meet.

In an interview, Abbas openly talked about the tough times in his life. He shared that life was not easy for him even before joining films. He failed in 10th grade, and at the same time, his girlfriend left him. He felt so broken that he even thought about ending his life.

He said that during his teenage years, he was very depressed. He once stood on the side of the road and thought about jumping in front of a fast car. But then he suddenly realized that if he did that, it would also ruin the life of the person driving the car. That moment changed his life. He understood that no matter how sad he was, other people’s feelings also mattered.

Abbas also tried to work in the Hindi film industry. He acted in the film Aansh: The Deadly Part, but it flopped badly.

He said that in the beginning, some of his films did well, but later many flopped. He reached a point where he didn’t even have money for rent or cigarettes. At first, his ego stopped him from taking up other jobs. But then he asked filmmaker R.B. Choudary for work, who gave him a role in Pooveli. After that, Abbas started getting bored with films.

He said he was no longer enjoying acting. He even told his friends not to watch his movie Aansh because he thought it was bad.

Talking about his life in New Zealand, Abbas said that sometimes people try to recognize him and ask where they’ve seen him. He usually just says yes or sometimes tells them he is Abbas, which surprises them.
