Why did Juhi Chawla keep her marriage to Indian businessman Jay Mehta a secret for six years?

Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla made interesting revelations about meeting her husband Jay Mehta on her 58th birthday and keeping the marriage a secret for six years.

Juhi Chawla, who has shown her acting skills in popular films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Darr and Ishq, told in an interview how she made Jay Mehta wait for a year after agreeing to marry her.

She said that she was starting to make a place in the industry and things were starting to improve. She did not want to lose her career by reaching this place. She wanted to continue working and all this was happening in between. So we kept quiet and she continued working.

She said that before marriage, Jay used to write letters to her every day. After marriage, all that stopped. In those days, we used to send each other letters and cards, which have now turned into emails and WhatsApp messages.

She said that Jay and she met at a dinner, after which he started hanging around her. Once on her birthday, Jay sent a truck full of red roses for her. He made Jay wait for a year to say ‘yes’.

It should be noted that Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta got married in 1995 but they did not tell anyone about it. Fans came to know about this in 2001 on the occasion of the birth of Juhi Chawla’s first daughter, Jhanvi Mehta.
