Fashion designer Maria B has once again reacted strongly to the introduction of transgender characters in Pakistani dramas. She recently criticized the team of the drama “Meri Zindagi Hai To” and accused them of silently promoting LGBT thinking through dramas.
In a video statement, Maria B referred to episode 19 of the drama and said, “Moeez Beta Ki Ye Tum Ho?” She said that in a scene in a girls’ college, a character was shown who is biologically male but is present among women, which she strongly objects to.
According to Maria B, it was a “trick” and the drama makers thought that the public would not notice this, but the Pakistani nation recognized it immediately.
In her video message, Maria B raised the question of whether the drama makers had a shortage of female actresses or did they knowingly bring a biological male in place of women? She said that in this way, women’s rights are being affected and the jobs of actresses are also at risk.
Maria B added that serious incidents have come to light in this regard in different countries of the world, especially in the United States, so it is dangerous to present such topics as normal.
