Over the years, the film has gained a cult following among fans. Now, there are many rumors about the third part of the Aashiqui series. During this time, director Mohit Suri finally spoke about the possibility of bringing back Aditya and Shraddha for Aashiqui 3.
In a recent interview with Filmy Gyaan, Mohit Suri was asked if he would work with Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor again in Aashiqui 3. He joked and said that even producers don’t want to give him work.
He then added that he would love to make a film with both actors in lead roles, but right now he is waiting for a strong script. He also said that there is a lot of pressure on him because Aashiqui 2 was such a big film.
The director explained that for the third part of the franchise, they need an even better script than Aashiqui 2, which is a tough challenge.
He also revealed something interesting. In a recent interview, Mohit Suri shared that the idea for the film Ek Villain Returns (earlier titled SiyaRa) was originally planned to be Aashiqui 3. He was asked to write a draft for the third part of the Aashiqui series.
Talking about producers Mukesh Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar, he said that they were in a hurry to announce the project, but he did not agree because he believes in finishing the script first and then making an announcement. But yes, the idea was originally for Aashiqui 3.
Aashiqui 2 was released on 26 April 2013 as the second part of the Aashiqui franchise. It became a turning point in the careers of Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor.
