He said in an interview with VOA Urdu that he had refused Jaan Se Pyara Juni several times. Zahid enjoys portraying complicated characters such as those in Besharam and Ishq Zah e Naseeb since there is more to accomplish. He stated that writing characters like Juni is challenging since they are so near to reality without any additional alphabets being introduced. So he denied it multiple times, but the director Meer Sikandar eventually persuaded him to accept the part and take on the task.
