Actress Zhalay Sarhadi revealed that she faced a casting couch situation in the early days of her career. In a recent podcast, Zhalay shared that the offer she received was not very aggressive, but it was still clear. It came from a director who is still working in the industry today.
She said the director rejected her from a project saying she was too tall, even though height had nothing to do with the role. Later, the same director told her that if she wanted her favorite role, she would need to make some compromises, just like other women do.
Zhalay reacted strongly and told him that she was only working in showbiz to pay for her education, and if anyone said such a thing again, she would slap them.
During the podcast, she also said that a woman’s earnings are full of blessings, and she paid for her own education and wedding.
