Zimbabwe beat Sri Lanka by a huge margin of 67 runs

In the second match of the Tri-Nation Series, Zimbabwe defeated Sri Lanka. And it is a huge margin of 67 runs to claim their first victory of the series.

In the match played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Zimbabwe batted first and set Sri Lanka a target of 163 runs to win. And it pursuit of the target, the Lincoln Tigers lost courage at 95 runs.

Apart from captain Dawson Shanaka’s 34 runs, no batsman from Sri Lanka failed to show any significant performance; 9 batsmen could not even enter double figures.

For Zimbabwe, Brad Evans dismissed 3 players for just 9 runs, Richard Nagarawa took 2 wickets, 4 bowlers showed one player each to the pavilion.

Earlier, Zimbabwe, batting first, scored 162 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, Brian Bennett played a brilliant innings of 49 runs with the help of 5 fours and a six.

Captain Sikandar Raza also took the team’s total forward with a fine innings of 47 runs with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga took 3 wickets for 32 runs, Ishan Malinga took 2 wickets, Dashmantha Chimera and Mahesh Thikshana took one wicket each.

It should be noted that in the first match of the Tri-Nation Series, host Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 5 wickets.
