Senior Indian actress and famous dancer Madhumati has passed away. According to Indian media reports, the 87-year-old actress, who was often compared to Helen, earned a special place in cinema because of her charming acting and unique dance style.
Born in 1938 in Maharashtra, Madhumati started her career in 1957 with an unreleased Marathi film. She was trained in classical dance forms like Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Manipuri, and Kathakali.
She was best known for her powerful performances in films like Aankhen, Tower House, Shikari, Mujhe Jeene Do, Amar Akbar Anthony, and Chhoti Bahu. Bollywood stars have expressed deep sorrow over her death.

Akshay Kumar shared an old photo on social media to express his sadness over Madhumati’s passing. He wrote that she was his first and forever teacher and that he learned everything about dance while sitting at her feet. He added that every move and expression in his dance will always remind him of her.
Actor Vindu Dara Singh also paid tribute to Madhumati, calling her his teacher.
It is worth mentioning that Madhumati ran her own dance academy in Mumbai, where she taught dance to many stars, including Akshay Kumar and Govinda.
